We believe that the key to successfully improving safety in Scouting lies in enhancing the culture of safety within our Movement. This applies to those people required to complete ongoing safety training (all those subject to an appointment review). Essentially, this means anyone who holds an appointment except for Scout Active Support Members and Executive Committee Members. This should be completed least every five years and this is monitored at the point of appointment review.Find out more »
All adults in scouting holding a Leader, Manager or Supporter appointment are required to have a First Aid Qualification. The First Response Certificate is designed specifically for adults in The Scout Association and Girlguiding, based on the situations and issues that occur within those roles. It is not, therefore, externally recognised. A Certificate must be valid when Wood Badge is issued and appointment renewed.Find out more »
