The Scout Association

It was our birthday!
Beavers make new friends.

Cub pulls hard in tug of war.

Scouts conquer fear underground.
In 2007, The Scout Movement was 100 years old. We had an action-packed year of activities lined up to mark the occasion. Through 2008 our membership increased significantly and 2009 is looking to be a fantastic year for over 1400 people involved with Scouting in Epsom and Ewell.

Firework Display

For many, their connection with Scouting in the local area is when they attend the annual firework display and funfair at Hook Road Arena organised by 7th Epsom (Methodist) Scout Group. Said to be the best fireworks in the south of England the event attended by 10,000 people and accompanied by the Monty Hammond Fun Fair is a great night out for all the family.  The Group are using the funds raised from this event to help towards the running of the Group and building of a new Headquarters in Ashley Road, Epsom. Find out more at www.epsomfireworks.com.

Forge - Redevelopment complete and ready for action
A building at the rear of 3rd Epsom Scout Group Headquarters formerly used as a forge has been redeveloped and returned to Scouting use. Once an old meeting place for Venture Scouts which had become derelict has been brought back to life with much more appealing decor, modern kitchen and bathroom facilities following the purchase of a longer lease. The Forge, now a central meeting place for Scouting in Epsom and Ewell was opened in September 2008 by former Mayor of Epsom and Ewell, Jean Steer and District Chairman, Phil Alexander.
