Historical Origins & Development
3rd Stoneleigh (Methodist) Scout Group has grown as part of the local Stoneleigh community and reflects the core values of the Scouting movement. The Group’s identity is rooted in offering purposeful and enjoyable activities that encourage young people to develop confidence, cooperation and practical life skills through adventurous experiences.
Over the years, the Group has developed structured programmes across its sections that combine outdoor activities, teamwork, camping, skill badges and community projects. While the Group’s own website does not publish a specific founding year, 3rd Stoneleigh maintains a long-standing presence in the local Scouting community, providing weekly opportunities for young people to challenge themselves, connect with others and build resilience.
The Group’s approach reflects a blend of traditional Scouting values and contemporary programme design, giving members opportunities to experience a wide range of activities – from creative and indoor challenges to outdoor and expedition-style events – as part of their progression through Scouting.
