Zipline

Description

• New zipline purchased by the district in 2022 and the inaugural use was SCOUTABOUT 2022.
• Riders are harnessed up at bottom of the tower, as well as given their running block to carry up the mini ladders inside the tower. At the top the running block is attached to the zip wire and they are released down the wire. 

Suitable For

• Everyone

Setup

• Needs an experienced/ competent person to lead build of the tower
• The tower takes at least half a day to set up, depending on support and number of lines.
• Can be set up as single or double lines.

Running

• Approximate 40 users per hour for 1 line or 75 for 2 lines.
• Needs 8 – 10 adults to run.
• Tasks include loading riders, put on/ take off harnesses, man the brake rope and release at end.

Cost

• £250 to £350 + transport costs (£1.50 / mile)

Caving Maze

Description

• A single level, wooden cave maze which can be crawled round inside in the dark.

Suitable For

• Beavers, cubs, and young scouts

Setup

• The cave takes about 1-2 hours to set up, depending on support.
• Can be set up as single (8ft x 16ft) or double (16ft x 16ft) cave,

Running

• Needs minimum of 2 adults to manage the activity, with no more than 4 participants in the cave at a time. Ideally have a gazebo for queuing and for leaving shoes under.
