Saturday 16th November saw the District’s Annual Emergency Aid Badge day take place. Once again Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts and Explorer Scouts could complete their requisite ‘Stage Badge’ between 1 & 4. Following very attentive and enthusiastic participation, over 80 badges were attained, including one Cub Scout achieving his Stage 3 badge. Congratulations to all who took part. Thanks must go to Karl Nicholas and his Team for working out the logistics and delivering the day at two separate locations.
In the evening the County’s Chief Scout Gold Award Certificate presentation took place. I’m pleased to say that the District had 9 representatives present, from three different Groups – 1st Cuddington, 1st Ewell Court and 3rd Stoneleigh. Judging by the numbers of Bronze and Silver Awards being achieved in the past year the District can hopefully look forward to many more Gold Award Certificates being presented in the future.
Congratulations to all concerned.
May I take this opportunity to wish all the members of the District a very peaceful and Happy Christmas; to thank all Leaders, Helpers and Executive Members for their continued efforts in 2013 and to wish you a Happy 2014.
John Jordan, District Commissioner
